Psalm 77:10-12
Then I said, “I will appeal to this, to the years of the right hand of the Most High.” I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.
Begin today by taking a moment to recall just a few ways that God has met a need in your life. How have you seen His divine plan unfold? His provision is always timely and often comes in the way we least expect. His plans for us may not be what we would have chosen at first, but in time we see that His ways are higher than our own and He knows best. As we move forward in our walk with Jesus, our eyes should be more open to His provision, protection and providence. We begin to see our life as a constant unfolding of God’s divine plan. Scripture encourages us to continually remember the way His plan has unfolded in our lives and to meditate on His mighty deeds. Bringing to mind former things encourages us to move forward, with full assurance that God will continue to be faithful, as He has proven Himself in the past.
As the Israelites stood on the banks of the Jordan, finally ready to cross over into the land they had been promised long ago, Moses took time to remind them of who God is and from where He had brought them. He asked them to remember the past in order to face the future with confidence. We know this final sermon of Moses as the book of Deuteronomy. Moses reminded the Israelites of the Lord’s promises, His faithfulness and how He would continue to be faithful as they crossed into an unknown land full of foreigners. Moses assured the people of God’s provision and continual presence as they followed His plan for them.
Westwood family, we are standing on the banks of something unknown. We are unsure of what God will do in our midst. Let us take time to remember what God has done in and through Westwood in the past and let that be the courage we need to move forward in confidence. We can rest assured that He will continue to be faithful and provide for our church.
