Disaster Response: How you can help

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. -Matthew 25:40

In the midst of times like these, as an overflow of His love, God uses the local church as his hands and feet to minister to those struggling to rebuild their lives after disaster.

As we continue to diligently pray for all those who have been affected by Hurrican Ida, we know many are ready and willing to help in any way possible. Below are ways you can help be a part of the recovery:

PRAY:

  • Pray for God's mercy, comfort, provision and protection for those who have been affected by Hurrican Ida.
  • Pray for first responders and those who are on the ground helping with the recovery efforts and serving in these communities.
  • Pray for God's provision for ongoing relief efforts.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT:

Agencies are assessing what needs to exist and how we can help meet those needs. The best way for you to provide the items and support needed and ensure your help is directed to where it is needed most, is to give financially to ongoing efforts, below are the ways we recommend:

VOLUNTEER:

Volunteer opportunities are being assessed and organized. Currently, the best option for volunteering is through our partnership with Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions-Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR). Below is a link that will provide you with the volunteer opportunities and ways for you to sign up to help in each area. SBDR coordinates locally with the Baptist Association and local churches to match needs with teams serving in the impacted areas, including training locations and opportunites if needed.
